Universal Design for Learning is the design of environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design (Center for Universal Design, 1997). Universal Design for Learning capitalizes on the attitude that environments are disabling to individuals and that they could be designed in ways that are usable by a majority of people with a variety of personal differences.
